Ho ho ho!

Hello once again! Is it really the last day of 2016? Gulp! Wow, this year has gone fast. Here's to a happy, healthy and crafty 2017. Cheers!

I have another Christmas layout to share today. My youngest son meeting Santa (many moons ago!). This one is more traditional in colour than the previous page. I've used the lovely Kaisercraft 'Silent Night' collection. Lots of cutting and layering - I really worked my scissors! I stamped the background card stock in gold snowflakes. The gorgeous Christmas tree banner was a bargain find at only £1 from a local shop. I think it finishes off the layout lovely. I'm entering this page into the December Challenge over at 'Scrap The Boys'. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Marie xx.

Tis the season

Hello and Merry Christmas (even if I am 6 days late!). I have had some 'me' time today so I've managed to finish a couple of Christmas layouts. I fell in love with the inspirational picture over at this month so I thought I'd pluck up some creative courage and enter. Just got it done in the nick of time too! The layout is of me and my university friends. We have known each other for over twenty years now and we get together around every Christmas. It's not a traditional layout. I've gone gold and cream with a hint of red. I hope you like it.

Halloween time of year

Hi folks! I have come to the end of my term on the Design Team at Craft Box. My final projects were created using the goodies from the October box. As you can see, I've gone halloween themed with an altered witch hat and candelabra.

Also, hubster bought me a webcam.... hmmm!
Here is a short video of me sharing an altered craft box. Good job I had my nails done!

Whoa, is it September already?

Wow, where has the summer gone? Life can be so hectic sometimes. Blink and suddenly it's two weeks later already! Gosh, my poor blog has been neglected, not intentionally, but my life feels like one fast roller coaster ride at the moment. This does not mean that I haven't been crafting because I have been a busy little bee, buzzing away in my crafty landing space experimenting and creating lots of new things.

As some of you already know, back in May, I taught a mixed media scrapbook workshop for the first time. Well, I am pleased to report that it was very enjoyable. The ladies were extremely complimentary and delighted with their pages. Wow, it was quite a success. So much so that it has continued every month since. I am beyond thrilled that the small group of lovely ladies enjoy scrapping with me each month. It's such a pleasure to be surrounded by people whom share my passion for paper crafting. We experiment with different techniques and use a variety of mediums. So much fun is had while learning at the same time. It's fantastic!

Below, I have posted the layouts that were made for each class so far.

June Class: Bright and cheerful

July Class: Grunge

August Class: Pretty in Pink

I'm back and raring to go!

Hi there. Sorry that it has been a while, I've been hopeless with this blogging malarky lately. Life has been getting in the way! Grrr! But, I have given myself a good talking to and I'm going to post much more regularly from now on. Watch this space!

So, I'd like to share my DT designs for Craftbox. Firstly, here are my projects using the June Box:

An altered travel case. As the theme was 'Bonjour World', the contents were perfect for a travel case. I really enjoyed creating this one so much. I covered the green case with map-style tissue paper, then used distress ink in places to give it a worn look. Next, I added lots of travel embellishments on the front. I wrote a note about how I love being near the sea and popped it inside the hanging bottle.

My second project was a scrapbook page. Hubster took me to New York for our honeymoon in 2011 and this photo is of me next to Brooklyn Bridge. The photo matched the postcard perfectly. I used lots of SnipArt chippies here which were included in the June box. Thanks for looking!

My very first Design Team post

Wahoo, lucky me! I have earned a place on the new Design Team at Craft Box. I am so thrilled.

Craft Box is a set of handpicked craft supplies put together every month by the owner, Anna. Each box contains 15 handpicked and handmade craft items which can be used for scrapbooking, card making, mixed media projects and jewellery making.

Here is my first design piece using the beautiful products from the May Craft Box, 'Timeless'.

Hello and welcome

This is my little space to share my creations with you all. I am hopelessly addicted to paper crafting, particularly scrapbooking.

My crafting story started in 2004 when I saw a scrapbooking demonstration on a well-known shopping channel. It was soon-to-be my sister’s 21st birthday and I thought it would be nice to give her a Scrapbook, so I got busy creating one. Back then, all you needed was a piece of background paper, card stock to matt your photo, a few simple embellishments and alphabets for your title. Now, 12 years on, my scrapbooking style has completely evolved and I use lots of different mixed media techniques such as painting, spritzing, pasting and stamping. Why do I love it so much? Well, one of the main reasons is because I get to relive happy memories and reminisce about the joyful times in my life. Scrapbooking makes me appreciate the small things in life like a single moment or saying. I can preserve and treasure it forever!

Below are a few of my most recent layouts:

I love to learn new techniques and I can often be found watching YouTube videos or stalking my favourite scrapbooking blogs!
